Hi! My name is Anya Rastorgueva and I have prepared a ¨Sketchbook¨online course for you.
What is a sketchbook? It is your individuality, your mood, your life… So why do they often stay empty?

Hello! My name is Anya Rastorgueva, I am a graphic artist, a bachelor of modern arts and I would like to present my online course of sketchbook drawing. Here it is. Sitting on the table in front of you, all new, with a nice cover. Untouched pages are provoking to hit the first stroke, fill them with vivid drawings, collages…
You take a liner pen or a pencil and… Well, something comes out, but not exactly what you have imagined. Or probably you even don’t know where to start at all?
I will teach you how to turn your sketchbook into a work of art.
My Works

What we will learn during the course
Sketchbook is liberation and freedom! Paradoxically, you are restricted in time, however, free in choosing a form, combination of methods, styles. This is what brings some remarkable results.
- I will teach you how to create sketchbook illustrations, filled with your individuality. You will learn how to use your own drawing skills in the most varied and interesting way. I will help you “build in” your skills, your technique into a sketchbook format. You will be able to unleash your style, go beyond the limits of “academic” views.
- You will get to know special methods which will make your sketches more varied, and “tridimensional”. Your own skills, whatever level they are, are enough to create interesting sketch-illustrations.
Online-course program
During the course we will make 9 two-page openings on 6 topics.
Your drawing media
Sketchers like to draw what they use for drawing. They not just show their arsenal, but also demonstrate its capabilities, working in a chosen technique.

Portrait of an Artist
Picking out an artist, analyzing the technique, methods, coloristics . Drawing a page-opening with an interpretation, consisting of the artist’s portrait and an extract of some work. Passing the image with the help of stylization and color.
Recipe Book. A series
- The list of ingredients. The illustration showing the variety of products from a recipe put together. Drawing food recognizably. Making a sketch rich with objects.
- Still-life.All world’s cuisine at our disposal. Picking “models”. Paying special attention to the angle, tone and color. Specify and detalize.

How the classes are organized
You can pick your favorite material. In this case you’ll you will the drive in the process and will be pleased with the results. Traditionally, one can use all the variety of graphic means while sketchbooking. Color pencils, watercolors, felt pens, professional markers.
I was completing the online-course tasks usingCopic Original markers. However, I don’t give you any restrictions in your choice of media. The following list is just a recommendation, the materials I personally used for the online-course.
Each task consists of four steps.
Preparation.
Collecting the material: photo, references or from nature. Making a pre-draft. Working on the composition.
Drawing with lines.
Making a one color unshaded drawing. Improving mistakes, making corrections.
Color.
Picking the color. Working with the ground-color.
Titles and captions.
Choosing prints. Making titles and captions.
What do we get?
In the end of the course you will have a sketchbook filled with your drawings.
You will make at least 9 two-page openings. There can be more drawings too – as many as you like.
As result you:- Overcome fear of blank page
- Get used to draw regularly
- Will get the skills of free spontaneous drawing
- Will learn to be watchful and ready to draw in any situation
- Elaborate or improve your own style.

I am sure it will be hard to stop afterwards. You will want to keep on drawing forever. Sketchbook manufacturers, hold on tight! :)
Learning format
This course cannot be just watched, as a TV-show. You will definitely have to work. Although the tasks will be easy, one will have to complete them and show the results all the time in order to get critics, comments, as well as some energy and motivation for new challenges.
What makes this course different from any other is that I never just leave you there with the video files. This is a full-scale distance learning.
During the whole month you’ll be getting my comments, while I will be monitoring the results of every student.
